Welcome to our local knitting workshop presented by “Yulla Himalayan Handicrafts” by a group of tribal women of Keylong (Lahaul & Spiti)  who are on mission to provide an Authentic Knitting experience and preserving the tribal handloom Art.

If you’re looking for a fun and creative way to learn the art of knitting, you’ve come to the right place. Our workshop is designed for all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced knitters looking to improve their techniques.

During our workshop, you’ll learn the basics of knitting, including how to select the right yarn and needles, cast on stitches, knit and purl, increase and decrease stitches, read knitting patterns, and fix common mistakes. We’ll also explore different textures, colors, and patterns, allowing you to create unique and personalized knitting projects.

Our workshop is led by a local knitting expert- Amma’s ( Tribal Women of Keylong) who has 40 Years+ of experience in the craft. They will guide you through each step of the knitting process and provide helpful tips and advice along the way. You’ll also have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including scarves, hats, socks, Gloves, that too in famous Lahauli Designs.

Our knitting workshop is held in a cozy and welcoming setting, providing the perfect environment for you to relax, learn, and socialize with fellow knitters. We also offer welcome drinks to keep you fueled and focused throughout the workshop.

How to reach Location: Sa-Qum Community Art StudioCafe is located right in the middle of village. Sa-Qum means “Mud House” in our Local Language and this studio is in Lower Keylong.Take the Keylong market road from Highway & stop at first Prayer Wheel Chowk on your Right. SaQum is is just 3 mins walk from there. Or you can simply reach to Kyelang Times Stays & Restaurant & ask for directions.
